''Silkie'' is a tough and strong yacht ideal for coastal cruising solo or with the family. Bermudan sloop rig enables single handed sailing. Good internal layout with forward cabin, saloon and a seperate aft cabin which is rare in a yacht of this size. Recent reupholster to forward cabin.

Vessel is powered by a twin cylinder 18hp, Volvo Penta MD2002 offering economy and reliability. Sails include a roller furling main with sail cover and a roller furling genoa. Electronics package includes a colour Standard Horizon GPS/Plotter and a Standard Horizon DSC VHF.



This vessel is equipped with a Volvo Penta 2 Cylinder, 18hp diesel engine. Reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and 2-bladed propeller.Engine is located beneath the companionway and can be accessed from the front and the rear for maintenance. Engine is regularly maintained with an annual service carried out in the Spring.


There are 2x12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. These are recharged from the engine alternator or the onboard battery charger when attached to shore power. Batteries new in 2020.


Bermudan sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped aluminium mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging with reinforced shroud plates. Terylene running rigging, the majority of which are led aft to the helm.

Sails include a boom furling mainsail with blue sail cover and a roller furling genoa with UV strip. There is a small bowsprit and rigging for an asymmetric spinnaker although the current owners haven't used it.

Genoa sheet winches mounted within easy reach of helm. Self tailing halyard winches mounted on cockpit coamings.

Below decks is warm and welcoming. Although only 28 feet over all, they have packed a lot into the interior including 5 comfortable sized berths. Heads compartment with sea toilet, hand basin and shower attachment. She is bright and clean with a good combination of wipe clean surfaces with a mixture of veneered marine ply and teak trimmed cabinet work. The flooring is laminate with the berth cushions and associated backrests in the saloon finished in cream vinyl.

The galley is mid ships on the port side. This features a stainless steel sink with pressurised water, fridge and a gas fuelled oven, with a two burner hob and grill.

There is a small chart navigation table opposite to the galley along with electronic navigation aids including a Standard Horizon plotter.

Between the saloon and the fore cabin is a heads compartment with a Lavac marine toilet a hand basin & extendable shower.

Across from the heads is storage unit which can also be used as a wardrobe.

In the bow is a very comfortable V-berth with infill to make it into a double. The berth cushions were recovered in smart grey vinyl in 2020. Opening deck hatch provides natural light and ventilation. All cabins are fitted with 12V lighting.


Heavy lay up GRP constructed sailing yacht with fin keel and counter hung rudder. Varnished tiller steering with extension.
White gel coat topsides with smart blue coveline stripe. Hull to deck join covered by an aluminium toe rail. Self bailing anchor well with wooden board mounted manual anchor windlass. Stainless steel stem head fitting with double anchor rollers.
Deep safe cockpit with locker storage port and starboard. Aft is the entrance to the aft cabin.
Wide safe side decks finished in grey non slip paint. Further protection offered by stainless steel bow and stern rails joined by a set of stanchions and double guard wires.
