Summary
'Maisy' is without a doubt the most attractive and well-equipped Westerly Storm that I have ever seen. I would even go as far as stating that 'Maisy' is up there with the best Westerly’s I have had through my hands and I dont say that lightly. This yacht is the cruising version of the Storm and benefits from bilge keels allowing greater versatility in where you can either cruise or keep her.
Key selling points for the prospective purchaser are that the big ticket items assovciated with a boat have been accounted for.
These include a NEW Volvo D1-30 inboard diesel in 2024, BRAND NEW Hyde Voyager range mainsail and genoa in March 2026, NEW diesel fired heating in 2026 and at the back of your mind, most importantly of all, the headlining has all been replaced professionally by local yard so no 'droop' in evidence here. Other attractions are the comprehensive electronic navigation package, safety package including life raft and electrical systems which includes Rutland wind generator Sterling Pro Charger systems.
Mechanical
Vessel was re-engined in early Spring 2024 with a shiny Volvo D1-30F. The installation was carried out professionally and included all new ancillaries such as sea cock, water strainer, fuel system pipes, primary filter, engine controls and exhaust system. Engine has completed 88 hours since installation and has been serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. Most recent being May 2026. Reduction gearbox driving stainless steel shaft and bronze Volvo 3-bladed propeller. As you can imagine she sounds fantastic and runs as smooth as a sewing machine. This will provide many years of mechanically trouble free boating for the lucky new custodians.

The wind charger has a charge regulator, and the Sterling Pro Charger has a Pro Charge Ultra remote control which was replaced in 2023.

Rigging
Bermudan sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped Selden/Kemp mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging and terylene running rigging with all lines led aft to the helm. Both the mast and standing rigging was inspected by local rigging specialist in 2025 and given a clean bill of health. New gooseneck fitting in October 2025. Vessel is easy to sail solo or with an inexperienced crew. Lewmar 44ST primary winches within easy reach of helm. These were serviced in 2025. Barient 18 halyard winches.
The sails are by Hyde and were purchased new in March 2026. Both the main and genoa are from Hydes Voyager range which were aimed at the serious passage maker who wants reliability and durability when embarking on serious journeys. The genoa is a 7oz offering with foam luff which amongst other advantages, improves sail shape and reduces wear on the sail when furling away. The mainsail is made from 8oz material and has a full top batten and a further 3 partial battens down the leach. There are two reefing points and the owner has set up a clever system to enable the sail to be reefed and released quickly and with the minimum of effort. The vessel is rigged for a cruising chute including a custom made stainless steel bowsprit for cruising chute tack. The chute itself is from 2007 but is in pristine condition. It even has its own waterproof launching bag which is probably the reason for the exceptional condition.

Accommodation
As with all Ed Dubois designed boats, the interior is warm and welcoming with excellent use of space that is both practical and exudes a classic feel. It is no hardship to be storm bound in port when this is your accommodation for the night. 'Maisy' has benefited from careful owners and the condition belies her 35 years. She is clean and due to her generous beam very spacious.
Excellent headroom throughout especially in the important places such as heads and galley.
As previously mentioned, the headlining was replaced using Hawke House supplied vinyl and was professionally installed by a local boatyard. Her woodwork is lightly stained teak in solid pieces and veneered marine ply. The flooring is teak and holly laminate in great condition. The upholstery in the saloon is original but is in exceptional condition and very comfortable indeed. All cabin mattresses have been replaced including the foam and covering fabrics.
Main saloon entered via the companionway with sliding hatch and lockable wash boards. To port is the L-Shaped galley with signature 'Dubois' tiled worktops and stainless steel sink with pressurised hot & cold water. Top loading fridge with plate. Gas fueled Nelson oven with 2-burner hob and grill. Plentiful storage cupboards and drawers. Opening port for additional light and ventilation.
Aft of the galley is a double berthed cabin. Wardrobe with shelves and hanging space. Portlight to cockpit. 12V deck head and reading lights.
Returning to the saloon and forward of the galley is the saloon seating area. Settee/berths port and starboard of drop leaved table. Table has internal bottle storage. Storage beneath and behind the settees with additional louvered door, hull mounted cupboards. The port saloon seating is U-shaped and will convert to a spacious double by using an infill.
In the bow is the forepeak with double berth. Storage below and in the hanging lockers either side of the cabin. Canvas storage bags either side of the berth for belongings. Opening deck hatch for light and ventilation.
Returning to the saloon and moving aft of the starboard side settee is the forward facing chart table. Chart desk with storage, seat and 12/240V panel. Chart reading light and cubby hole storage.
Immediately aft of the chart table is the heads compartment. Spacious compartment with Jabsco marine toilet and moulded sink unit with hot and cold mixer tap. Storage below sink and teak vanity unit above with mirrored sliding doors. Opening port for light and ventilation.
