Summary
Build in 1905, Dawn is a classic Canoe Yawl Gentlemans Yacht. Dawn was designed by a pupil of Albert Strange and her lines are published in Yachting Monthly July 1905. The Canoe Yawl Association describes the style as being a slim, easily-driven, decked hull with a stem at each end and carrying a yawl rig.
With a rich sailing history, Dawn assisted in the evacuation of Dunkirk in June 1940. She was winner of the initial Houghton Cup and the Royal Solent’s Gaff Pursuit in 2021. She is a Member National Historic Ships.
She has beautiful lines and is easily sailed double handed.
