Summary

Great example of one of the most popular Laurent Giles/Westerly productions. The Konsort was the second most popular boat built with 812 preoduced over a 14 year period. When you get on board you can see why, as they packed a lot of boat into the 28 feet. This is the more popular bilge keeled version allowing the shallower waters of our beattiful coastline to be explored. For the solo or short handed sailor she is a dream as all lines come aft to the deep and sheltered cockpit. Below decks is comfortable and inviting with berths for 6 over the fore cabin and saloon. She was re-engined in 2019 with an economical and reliable BETA 25hp inboard. Her standing rigging was replaced at the same time. Comprehensive navigation package including Tack-Tick log/speed/depth, Navman colour GPS/Chart plotter and ICOM DSC VHF.

Mechanical

Vessel powered by an 25hp, Beta B25, 3-cylinder inboard diesel. This was installed in 2019 replacing the old Volvo. During the installation the gearbox, propeller shaft, cutlass bearing and waterlock were replaced as well. Engine undergoes an annual service which includes replacement oils, filters, impeller as well as a lubrication of all cables. She has completed 398 hours and will provide good reliable service for many years to come. The engine is situated beneath the companionway and is accessible from the front and the rear. Reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and 3 bladed fixed propeller.
This will push you along at 4-5 knots but will push 7 knots if required.

Electrical

Bank of 2x12V batteries fitted with a rotary style battery selector. These provide engine start and domestic power. The batteries are situated beneath the quarter berth allowing easy access should they need changed. The batteries are recharged via the 40A engine alternator.
Shore power cable. There is no shore power system.

Rigging

Bermudan, masthead sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped aluminium spars by Proctor. Easy to sail with control lines led aft to clutches via deck organisers. Lewmar 40 sheet winches, Lewmar 10 halyard winch and a Gibb winch situated at mast.
Stainless steel standing rigging weas inspected in 2019, and the fore and aft stays were replaced. All the rest was given a clean bill of health. Terylene and Dyneema running rigging in good order. Plastimo 811s roller furling headsail system. Slab reefing mainsail mounted in stack pack system on boom. Vessel rigged for spinnaker. - NO POLE

Accommodation

Below decks is very comfortable with good headroom throughout. She can sleep 6 adults but truthfully more suited for 4 persons. The main saloon is entered via the companionway. To port is the chart table with chart storage, chart reading light and 12V instrument panel. Quarter/pilot berth aft.
Opposite the chart table is the galley which features excellent storage below and above the counter tops. A Flavel Vanessa gas fuelled oven with 2-burner hob and grill is more than sufficient to conjure up culinary delights and provisions can be stored in the top loading ice box, Stainless steel sink with pressurised fresh water.
The saloon has a central dop leaved table with settee/berth port and starboard. The port settee will convert to a double. There is storage beneath each settee and open storage behind the back rests area. Forward of the saloon bulkhead is the heads compartment with Lavac sea toilet. The sea toilet has Blakes valves which are serviced annually. Hanging locker opposite and sink. In the bow is a V-berth. 12V lighting throughout. Lots of natural light from deck hatches and recently replaced port lights.

Construction

GRP constructed sailing yacht with twin bilge keels, and transom mounted rudder with wooden tiller steering. White gelcoat topsides with signature Westerly navy blue coveline. Underwater areas have been epoxy treated in 1998 and have an annual antifoul along with a topsides polish. – This has just been completed in August 2025 Wide side decks finished in with light grey deck paint. Teak toerail and grab handles on coach roof. Stainless steel bow and stern rails conjoined by stanchions and double set guard wires. Guard wires replaced in 2019.
Deep and safe cockpit with Treadmaster panels to locker tops and cockpit sole.
Cavernous sail locker to starboard incorporating fuel tank and self-draining and vented gas locker. Transom with boarding ladder.
