Summary
Ossian is a super example of the Tony Castro designed, Jeanneau Sun Shine 36. This is the lifting keeled version giving a draft of 1.25 when raised and 2.10 at the full extent. This allows the shallower areas of our beautiful coastline to be enjoyed. ‘Ossian’ can sleep 10 people over three cabins plus the saloon making her the ideal family cruiser or training vessel. Beamy with excellent headroom throughout. Recently ashore she has been anti fouled ready for the 2026 season. Powered by a recently serviced Yanmar 3GMD inboard diesel which will push her along at a steady 6 knots should the wind die. 12/240V systems have been upgraded including solar charging. Comprehensive electronics navigation pack including radar, depth sounder, wind speed, DSC VHF, AIS and Navtex.
Mechanical
Vessel is powered by a Yanmar 3 GMD inboard diesel engine. This undergoes an annual service at the start of each season. Engine is situated beneath the companionway, allowing all round access for servicing and daily checks.
Reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and 3-bladed folding MAXI-PROP propeller. Shaft is fitted with a rope cutter for protection. Engine spares
Electrical
On board there are 12V and 240V systems. There is a bank of four 12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. The batteries were replaced between 2022 and 2024 and are recharged via the engine alternator or the onboard Victron Energy Smart charger installed NEW in 2024. To enable self-sufficiency, there has been a 100W solar panel fitted which is fitted with a 50A DC-DC split charging relay.
This will keep the batteries topped up when on unserviced pontoons, or in remote areas.
Rigging
Bermudan sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped aluminium spars. Stainless steel standing rigging which was checked by local rigger in 2024. Report available. Terylene running rigging with the majority led back to the cockpit via turning blocks and jammers. Lumar winches, including two Genoa sheep winches, 2 spinnaker sheep winches and two halyard winches.
Sails include a fully battened main, roller, furling genoa with UV strip and a spinnaker. This includes a pole, and associated rigging.
