Summary

‘High C’s’ is a lovely example of the robust and spacious Princess 41. Built in 1979 by Marine Projects of Plymouth at a time when competition was fierce to design and build the ideal boat suitable for long range cruising either as a couple or with friends.
Her layout suits this with a large double berth, en-suite forecabin, mid-ships cabin with bunks and a spacious ensuite aft cabin with 2 large singles.
Huge saloon due the generous beam with great visibility makes relaxing or entertaining a breeze.
Well-equipped galley with gas cooker and fridge. Additional fridge in saloon so a cold one is always at hand. Upper and lower helms offer flexibility when under way or berthing. Freedom to anchor in a bay or spend time in remote unserviced harbours is provided by the onboard generator.
Well maintained Volvo Penta TAMD60B inboards provide reliability. Manoeuvring is a dawdle thanks to the twin mid mounted engines and the bowthruster.
Comprehensive electronic navigation package including radar. Stainless steel dinghy davits. Comfortable flybridge seating with all over cover. The radar arch is hinged so those wishing to boat on the rivers and canals are catered for. Would make an ideal coastal cruiser with liveaboard capabilities.

Mechanical

Vessel powered by twin Volvo Penta TAMD60B inboard diesel engines developing 235hp at 3000rpm. These 6-cylinder work horses are turbocharged and will cruise happily at 15 knots all day. Reduction gearboxes with shaft driven four-blade bronze propellors. Engines have completed 2378 on the port engine and 3181 on the starboard. Engines can be accessed from the rear via the steps to the aft cabin. Engines are well maintained with an annual service carried out to both engines and generator. Full engine instrumentation at both upper and lower helms. Twin lever engine controls. Berthing is aided by the recent addition of a Sliepner bowthruster

Electrical

12/240V systems on board with a bank of 3x12V batteries providing engine start, bowthruster and domestic power. Batteries are fitted with key style selector switches and are recharged by the engine alternators or by the onboard Fairstone 30amp charge system. There is a Vetus 4Kw generator which will drive the systems if required.
All cabins, saloon and galley witted with 240V outlets. Shore power with cable.

Accommodation

Vessel can sleep 7 persons over the three sleeping cabins and saloon. Double berth in forward cabin, 2 singles mid-ships, 2 singles aft and a further single in saloon. The interior is clean and bright with cream soft furnishings, easy clean tiled bulkheads and excellent headlining’s which were replaced by the company who fitted the boat out originally.

The saloon is entered from the raised aft deck via a glazed lockable door. To port is a very comfortable settee that will provide a decent single berth if required. Inbuilt storage, lower helm seat with front opening fridge below. Drop leaved table can sit at least 6 people when leaves extended. Aft of the port seating area is a storage unit with a flat screen TV on top.
Excellent light and visibility from the port and starboard side windows and windscreen. These are fitted with curtains for privacy. Privacy enhanced by exterior windscreen covers. Excellent storage cupboards throughout.

Moving aft from the saloon is the rear guest ensuite cabin. There are two full length single berths either side of a central storage unit with drawers and a sink. Storage units adjacent to either berth. En suite heads compartment with shower and sea toilet. Hanging wardrobe

Returning to the saloon and moving downstairs is the galley on the starboard side. This area features a gas fuelled cooker with 4 burner hob, oven and grill. Front loading fridge with ice compartment. Hot and cold pressurised water heated by either the engine or calorifier. Storage cupboards and shelving.

Opposite the galley is the midships cabin with 2 bunks, opening ports and 12V lighting. Forward of the galley is the day heads which has a porta-potti, sink and shower. The chemical toilet is ideal if you are visiting the canal and river systems of the UK.
In the bow is the ‘Owners’ double cabin with island berth, full height wardrobes and plentiful drawer and cupboard storage.

Construction

Built by Marine Projects of Plymouth in 1979. Semi displacement hull constructed in GRP with white topsides and contrasting red coveline stripes. Underwater areas antifouled in 2024.
Rear deck and side decks finished in simulated wood effect GRP. Large foredeck with electric windlass. Stainless steel bow and side rails keep crew secure when moving forward. Bathing platform with ladder access to aft deck. Aft deck with bespoke storage boxes. Upper helm position with helm seat and additional seating. Flybridge cover. Stainless steel arch hinges for road transport or for low bridges.
