Summary
Rare opportunity to purchase the much sought after Starfisher 840WA. This is without a doubt one of the best built production 8M hulls I have had through my hands and she will tick most of the boxes required by the angling and cruising fraternity. If you are after a cruising boat from which you can fish or looking for an angling boat to go further afield in and have over night stops then 'Double Trouble' is the one.
Powered by a well maintained single 315 hp Yanmar diesel she will cruise happily at 15-18 knots. Timing belt was replaced in 2018. Accommodationis superb with an offset double berth, heads with shower and galley. Wheelhouse dinette converts to an additional single berth. Well equipped with navigation aids including colour Raymarine C80 chartplotter with radar overlay, Lowrance HDS10 colour depth/fishfinder and Raymarine 240e DSC VHF. Bennet trim tabs, electric windlass and sea water deck wash and live bait pumps.
Mechanical
The vessel is powered by a single Yanmar 6LPA-STP inboard diesel. This 6-cylinder work horse has been well maintained and was serviced prior to lift out in 2025. She has completed 1710 hours and had her timing belt changed in 2018 at 1498 hours. Engine bay is accessed through the saloon floor and is clean and tidy. Single lever engine control with stainless steel shaft and 4-bladed fixed propeller. Fuel is stored in 2x200 litre tanks outboard of the engine for stability and easy handling. Manoeverability enhanced by a bow thruster. Hydraulic wheel steering. Engine serviced prior to lift out in 2025 including impeller.
Full engine instrumentation at helm with gauges for oil pressure, temperature and charging.
