Summary

‘Tuna II’ is based on the capable and seaworthy Wilson Flyer 19 of the late 70’s early 80’s. The big difference is the size, and she has been stretched to 8 meters overall with a generous beam of just shy of 3 meters. The characteristics that made the Wilson Flyer so popular are still there. Deep V cathedral hull provides a dry smooth ride whilst ensuring a stable angling platform on the drift. Her generous cockpit space ensures that you are not getting tangled with your neighbour, whilst the cabin offers a place to get your head down and have something to eat. Comprehensive Raymarine navigation package including Hybrid touch plotters and HD radar. Engine has completed 180 hours and is a reliable and powerful D4-210 inboard with stern drive.

Mechanical

Vessel is powered by an inboard diesel Volvo Penta D4-210. This 210 hp workhorse has completed 180 serviced hours and was last serviced late 2024 prior to the winter layup.
Propulsion is a Volvo DPH sterndrive unit with stainless steel duo props. This will push the boat along nicely at 20 knots cruising and has a top speed of 35 knots. 2x100Litre fuel tanks mounted along centre line for stability.
Engine is housed at the rear of the cockpit with a GRP protective box. This makes an ideal seat/bait table.
Full engine instrumentation at helm with single lever fly by wire controls. EVC Management system.

Electrical

12/24 and 240V power on board. Bank of 3X 12V batteries fitted with isolators. These provide engine start and domestic power. The domestics can be coupled together to provide the 24V required to drive the pot hauler.
Batteries were replaced in 2024 and are recharged via the engine alternator or the onboard Sterling Pro-Charge Ultra smart charger when hooked to shore power.

Navigation

  • 2X Raymarine Hybrid Touch monitors with Lighthouse 3 operating systems. These can be used as either standalone chart plotters or fish finders.
