Summary
We are delighted to present "Rumours" to the market. The Elan 40 is a well-balanced performance cruiser designed by Rob Humphreys and built by Elan Yachts in Slovenia. Known for its sleek lines, responsive handling, and solid construction, the Elan 40 offers both exciting sailing performance and comfortable living spaces. Featuring a fractional rig, spacious cockpit, and efficient deck layout, it's easy to sail short-handed while still capable of competitive racing. Below deck, the yacht provides a warm, well-crafted interior with three cabins, a generous saloon, and a fully equipped galley, making it ideal for coastal cruising or extended voyages. This example has been in the current ownership since 2019 and she has been well maintained and upgraded. The boat is now ashore at Portland Marina ready for viewing.
Berth at Portland Marina is available for the new owner to continue.

Owner's Comments
Purchased from a one-owner, elderly gentleman in early 2024. She was originally called ‘Bangoes’ and was based in Turkey from new. Was dry sailed out of Bodrum for c15 years, with extensive cruising by owner and wife, in Turkey and Greece. Shipped back to UK in 2019 and based in River Crouch, where she hardly moved for 5 years.
Sailed back from Burnham to Dartmouth on maiden voyage with new owners. Much effort and investment since to bring her back to great condition. A few items left, which tend to be a personal choice for owners, like upgrading certain electronics and cooker etc.
Only for sale due to unforeseen circumstances with owners.
An excellent sea boat that handles beautifully in all conditions.
