Accommodation

The Hunter Channel 32 accommodation offers up to 6/7 berths in 2 cabins plus the saloon, with up to 6'4" headroom.

FORECABIN - Fitted with a vee berth, storage shelves, beneath berth stowage, hanging lockers and opening hatch to foredeck.

SALOON - The spacious saloon is laid out with settee berths either side of a central table with folding leaves, with a pilot berth to port and good stowage provided in a selection of lockers and storage spaces.

GALLEY - Located to starboard is an L-shaped galley, equipped with a Plastimo gas cooker with two burners, grill and oven, twin stainless steel sinks and plenty of storage. 12v Weaco Dometic Coolbox beneath chart table. * Cooker serviced and grill replaced by Dickies of Bangor. Full gas inspection and new sensors in May 2021.

CHART TABLE - The well proportioned forward-facing chart table is located to port and has navigation equipment, an electrical distribution panel and good stowage. 

AFT CABIN - Located aft to starboard, the aft cabin is fitted with a large hanging locker, a longitudinal double berth and opening and fixed portlights.

HEADS - The separate heads compartment is aft to port for easy access from the companionway, and is fitted with a marine toilet (c/w Holding tank), washbasin, shower, storage and wet hanging locker.

GENERAL EQUIPMENT - Pressurised hot and cold water supplied via a calorifier with immersion coil. Eberspacher diesel fired warm air heating system. Grey fabric upholstery with complimenting curtains and teak and holly sole boards throughout.

Hunter Channel 32 moulded and factory completed in 1991 by Hunter Boats Ltd. to a David Thomas design. Hull # 5
White GRP hull, superstructure and decks with moulded non-slip surfaces. 
Self-draining aft cockpit with steps down to sugar scoop stern. 
Twin cast iron keels. 
Tiller steering to semi-balanced rudder.
Hull epoxied by Hunter Boats in 1991. Last antifouled in August 2025.

I purchased Ruby in 2009 from Chichester and have regularly cruised the Irish Sea, Bristol Channel, and the Clyde. She is one of the best short handed modern and stiff British cruising boats ever built, with self tacking jib, all lines led back to the cockpit, and mainsheet in reach of the tiller. Masses of storage.
