Summary
‘Darling Jill’ is a lovely example of the Einer Ohlson designed ‘Ohlson 35’ Built to be competitive in the ¾ ton racing class, this particular model looks to have been lightly used and has a wheel rather than a tiller. She is currently involved in club racing but will suit a family who want to cruise in comfort. Her interior is bright and welcoming with 6 decent berths. Reliable and economical inboard Beta BD20 diesel and a decent suit of sails for all occasions.
Mechanical
Vessel is powered by a reliable and efficient Beta B20 inboard diesel engine. The engine was installed new in 2000 and has only completed 400 hours. Engine is situated beneath the companionway steps allowing easy access for servicing and daily checks. The last service was in the close season of 2024 prior to the vessel being lifted ashore for her annual layup prior to being made ready for the 2025 season.
Engine start panel in the companionway with key start, rev counter and visual/audible warning lights for temperature, oil pressure and charging. Single lever engine control mounted in cockpit.
Reduction gearbox driving stainless steel shaft and 3-bladed fixed propeller.
Electrical
12/240V systems onboard. Bank of 3x12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. All batteries were replaced in 2021 and are in excellent condition. Rotary style battery selector switch. Batteries recharged via the engine alternator or plug in battery charger. Shore power connector with cable. 12V switch panel at quarter berth.
Rigging
Deck stepped aluminium spars by Sparcraft with masthead sloop sail plan. Stainless steel standing rigging which was replaced in 2019. Single spreader rig whose spreaders were replaced with bespoke stainless-steel pair in 2019. Roller furling headsail system with foil for foam luffed headsail. The running rigging is a combination of cruising dyneema, braid on braid and the foresail halyard is Dyneema. These havebeen replaced on an ongoing basis since 2021. Slab reefing mainsail mounted in lazybag on boom. Vessel rigged for spinnaker including associated rigging, mast track, winches and pole.
Self-tailing primary winches for genoa sheets. Secondary winches mounted aft in cockpit. Halyard and spinnaker sheet winches mounted on coach roof. Genoa tracks with adjustable cars on side decks.

Accommodation
The interior of this yacht is very bright and welcoming which is unusual on a boat of this era. Headroom is excellent as well so the giants amongst us will be satisfied. To port is the galley featuring a gas fuelled oven with 2-burner hob and separate grill. Double stainless-steel sinks with manually pumped fresh water. Cubby hole stowage for crockery and provisions.
Opposite the galley is the forward-facing chart table with chart storage. Useful electronic aids including VHF, Autohelm Multi-function repeater and a digital battery monitor. 12V switch panel mounted aft on the engine compartment bulkhead. Large quarter berth aft.
Saloon with settee berths port and starboard of an offset to port saloon table. Additional berth on the port side. Excellent storage behind the back rests and below the bunks. Plenty grab rails mounted to inner roof liner which is an often-overlooked feature within a yacht.
Forward of the saloon bulkhead is a heads compartment with sea toilet and sink. Opposite is a hanging space. In the bow is the forward cabin with a comfortable V berth. Excellent storage below bunks.
Excellent headroom throughout. Upholstery in excellent condition.
Construction
GRP constructed yacht with white topsides, lead fin keel and ¾ skeg mounted rudder. Large cockpit with locker storage, deck drains and binnacle mounted wheel steering. Transom with stainless steel bathing ladder.
White moulded GRP side decks and coach roof. Shrouds are inboard allowing easy access around the deck. Electric windlass with chain locker below. Stem head fitting with offset bow roller. Under water areas have been epoxied in the past and are currently antifouled using Seajet coatings. This was completed in April 2025 prior to launch.
Stainless steel bow and stern rails with stanchions and double set guard wires.
Hull to deck join finished in aluminium toe rail.
