Accommodation

Saloon
The saloon is notably spacious for a 40-foot cruiser, benefiting from the owner’s two-cabin layout to create a far more open living area.  Warm teak joinery, curved companionway steps, and generous natural light from overhead hatches and portlights give the interior a bright yet traditional feel. A large U-shaped dinette sits to starboard around a substantial saloon table with integral storage, and a straight settee opposite. The twin armchairs or seating area to port, separated by a built-in cocktail cabinet create a comfortable lounge space. Storage is integrated behind and beneath the seating, while the wide beam carries well aft, giving the saloon excellent shoulder room and easy movement throughout the cabin.  The upgraded cream upholstery adds to the bright and airy feel

Galley
The galley is located immediately to starboard at the foot of the companionway and is arranged in a practical L-shape that works well both underway and at anchor. It features plenty of usable worktop area, aided by fitted sink covers that extend the preparation space when not in use.  There is a replacement, three-burner gas cooker with oven, a deep top-loading refrigerator (cooling plate replaced in 2015), double stainless-steel sinks, and numerous lockers and drawers for provisions and cookware. Clever storage details including adjustable shelving with additional dividers make the galley particularly practical for extended cruising or liveaboard use.

Chart Table
Opposite the galley is a forward-facing chart table and navigation station.  Unlike many modern cruisers that minimise navigation space, the Sun Odyssey 40.3 retains a proper chart desk large enough for folded paper charts, navigation instruments, radios, and electrical panels. The navigator’s seat has storage under.

Day Heads / Shower
The owner’s version features a single spacious aft heads compartment to port, which serves as the yacht’s primary day head and shower room. Because the second aft cabin is omitted in this layout, the heads benefits from noticeably more space than on the three-cabin version including a separate shower cubicle with a door to the garage storage area beneath the cockpit.  Jabsco manual sea toilet, moulded sink vanity, mirror and lockers.

Forward Cabin with Ensuite
The forward cabin occupies the bow section.  There is a double V-shape berth, hanging lockers and storage compartments.  En-suite head & shower with moulded in-vanity wash-hand basin, Jabsco sea toilet and storage.

Aft Cabin
The aft cabin features a double berth, hanging lockers, shelves, reading lights, and opening ports make the cabin comfortable for guests or extended cruising.
