The Frigate 27 was designed by David Sadler the man responsible fort bringing the yachting world the every popular Contessa 26 and 32 as well as the Sadler 25, 26, 29 and 32.
The Frigate 27 is a fast capable cruiser/racer equally as comfortable in a blow as she is in light airs. She benefits from a reliable Volvo Penta MD2002 and a comprehensive suit of sails including a fully battened mainsail, furling genoa, storm jib, spinnaker and cruising chute.
Below decks is clean, comfortable with new headlining's and diesel heating.

Mechanical

Vessel is powered by a reliable and efficient inboard diesel Volvo Penta MD2002. This 18hp, 2-cylinder work horse is located beneath the companionway allowing easy access for servicing and daily checks. Most recent service was January 2024 ready for the season.
Single lever throttle control with forward and reverse function. Sail drive unit and 2-bladed folding propeller. Sail drive was removed, serviced and sail drive seal replaced in 2023.

Bank of 2x12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. The batteries are fitted with isolators and are recharged via the engine alternator or the onboard solar panels.
Boat benefits from shore power.

Masthead Bermudan sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped aluminium spars. Stainless steel standing rigging replaced in 2014. Braid on braid running rigging.
Roller furling headsail system by Rotostay with an alloy luff groove. Boom mounted slab reefing mainsail system with blue canvas sail cover.

The saloon table drops and converts to a spacious double and there is a quarter berth aft.

GRP constructed yacht with cast iron keel and counter hung rudder with tiller steering. Underwater areas antifouled using VC Offshore in 2023.
Self bailing cockpit with large sail locker to starboard and additional locker at transom.. Good sized side decks allowing safe and easy access forward. Side decks finished in smart grey non slip.
